Colts Huddle

Colts Huddle

It’s Monday morning and every Monday we will feature the Colts Huddle. A round up of Colts news, and thoughts.

Well we are 1 week into training camp activities. So have you had a chance to get to Anderson University and check out the era to the “Manning Throne”?

Is Andrew Luck what we thought he would be. I think he still has a long way to go! However according to former Colts coach Tony Dungy, Pro Bowl receiver Reggie Wayne, veteran defensive lineman Cory Redding and Adam Vinatieri, the best clutch kicker in NFL history. The consensus: Luck is no ordinary rookie!

Lucks response to the comments made about him “It’s always very nice when two guys of such high caliber (Dungy and Vinatieri) say those things, but I feel like a scrub rookie every day, so far,”

It appears that Luck, the $22.1 million man, took most of the snaps at practice this week, a trend that’s likely continue throughout camp and the regular season and something few rookies , a rarity in the NFL.

After a dismal 2-14 season, team owner Jim Irsay cleaned house. He brought in Chuck Pagano, a first-time head coach; Ryan Grigson, a first-time general manager and released Peyton Manning to give Luck a clear path to the starting job.

I would say Luck will get there. However I do want o point out fans need to be patient. Especially those who consider Andrew Luck the “MESSIAH”!

Andrew Luck is a Rookie with alot of work to do before he can fill the  “#18″ shoes!

The next step comes Aug. 12 when the Colts host St. Louis in their first preseason game, and Indy’s new franchise quarterback knows it will take more than luck and praise to make a smooth transition from two-time Heisman Trophy runner-up to NFL star.

Join us Saturday on the Balance as we break down preseason game 1, and catch the “Colts Huddle” Next Monday Morning.

We want to hear your thoughts!
