The commitments keep coming for the 2013 Purdue football recruiting class as they got their ninth commitment from running back Keyante Green, a former UCLA commit.
The 5’9” 190 pound back from McDonough, Georgia is a three star prospect by Rivals and held offers from Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Ohio State, South Carolina, TCU, Virginia Tech, and many others. As a junior, Green rushed for 1,100 yards and 23 touchdowns for Eagle’s Landing Christian.
A big part of Green’s decision to de-commit from UCLA and pick the Boilers after his recent visit was the opportunity he will have to receive significant playing time as a true freshman. For 2013, the only running back slated to be on the roster is Akeem Hunt. With the diminished numbers, Green and fellow 2013 commit David Yancey should see a lot of time as true freshman.
Green’s commitment is a big recruiting win for Coach Danny Hope. This should give the Boilers some more steam to keep the 2013 recruiting train rolling.
